Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week Acute Care/PCU travel assignment on night shift, requiring an active NC or compact RN license and ICU/stepdown experience.

Details
Acute Care unit providing care ranging from med/surg to ICU level
30-bed unit with 40+ staff, including charge RN/CNC, RNs/LPNs, and NAs on both day and night shifts
Patient ratios of 2-4:1 for stepdown/ICU patients and 5-6:1 for med/surg patients, supported by 2-3 PCTs as appropriate
Uses IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, lift equipment, and Pyxis
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Weekend rotation required (3 Mondays and Fridays per 6-week schedule)
Holiday coverage required per staffing matrix
Floating to TCU as needed

Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
BLS and ACLS certifications required, to be completed prior to end of orientation
2+ years of RN experience required
ICU or stepdown experience preferred
1 year of med/surg experience preferred
Experience with IV starts, CVL, arterial lines, foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information
Participate in a team-based care model with daily interdisciplinary rounds involving MDs, nursing, case management, pharmacist, and PT/OT to discuss patient care and discharge planning
Ideal candidates thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Navy blue scrubs required for nurses
Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility with no exceptions
