Must-Have: Must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation. A score of 90% is required to pass. Artificial nails are prohibited.
Description:
This position requires a registered nurse to work in a stepdown unit.
The unit handles a variety of patients, including those with medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke diagnoses.
RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry.
There is a charge nurse on each shift who does take an assignment.
Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1:14 for support.
RNs are required to titrate drips such as heparin, octreotide, and insulin.
Special equipment includes code carts, LUCAS machines, and hoyer lifts.
Shifts are scheduled for 6 weeks with weekend and holiday rotations required.
Six weekend shifts within a 6-week period are expected.
Floating to med/surg and other areas of the facility may be necessary based on patient care needs.
The unit operates with a focus on teamwork and positive collaboration among nursing staff.
The environment is described as high flow, with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges.
