Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
Valid RN License required
Must have at least 1 year of critical care experience.
Prior travel experience preferred.
The unit consists of 18 private rooms with negative pressure capability for COVID patients.
Common diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, CHF, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal failure, neurosurgeries, and vascular patients.
Registered Nurses are required to titrate all critical care medications within ordered parameters.
ICU RNs also perform care and removal of central lines.
Intensivists provide daily in-house coverage from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Dedicated respiratory therapy staff are present 24/7.
Registered Nurses are responsible for monitoring and interpreting telemetry.
Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted, based on unit needs.
Weekend shifts are required every other week.
There is a rare floating requirement to stepdown and med-surg units as needed.
A pharmacist is on the unit during daytime hours.
Travelers may be required to work weekends based on unit staffing needs.
