Description:
The unit consists of 3 Operating Room suites with a staff of 11.
The day shift typically has 1 charge nurse, 3 or 4 RNs, 2 Scrub Techs, and 1 Aide or Anesthesia Tech.
The night shift has a 3-member call team.
Patient ratios are 3 staff members per Operating Room.
The equipment used includes Open Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic tools.
The EMR system utilized is Meditech.
Procedures performed on this unit include CABG, Valves, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, Carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation/interventions, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, and ECMO.
Level 2 trauma coverage is provided for all vascular and thoracic procedures.
The best personality fit for this role is self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible.
The dress code consists of scrubs, which are provided.
Time off requests must be submitted in accordance with unit guidelines.
Call requirements are approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week.
This unit features a close-knit team with members who have longstanding experience.
