Care with Heart. Join Eastern Avenue Apartments as a Maintenance Tech I in Seat Pleasant, MD. It’s an opportunity to lead day-to-day property operations while creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained community for residents. You’ll play a key role in supporting housing stability, enhancing resident experience, and ensuring the property runs efficiently and effectively. Eastern Avenue is part of the National Housing Corporation of Volunteers of America National Services, a subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization. Maintenance Technician I Job Highlights:
Shift: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends

High School Diploma or equivalent

• 6 months of full-time experience in building maintenance
• Proficient in English. Must have the ability to read and write in English
• Able to follow both verbal and written English instructions
• Know how to turn the water valve and electricity off in case of emergency
• Construction experience and/or maintenance of equipment and utility experience

Make recommendations to Community Administrator on necessary maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance, and property improvements.
Repair and paint the building exterior as needed.
Must be capable of using and climbing an extension ladder to access the roof, windows, and siding to make repairs as needed
~ Safety: Know, follow and enforce facility safety rules.

Complete required training
Available to work on-call to ensure that twenty-four (24) hour maintenance is provided to the properties.
