Entity/Organization: MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center)

Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, 7A-7P, every other weekend, rotating holidays.

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Minimum Training and Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

Frequent) Ability to perform "pinching" operations. (from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted. (For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. Continuous) Ability to work rotating shifts. (Frequent) Ability to work overtime as required. (Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.

Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.

Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations.

Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.

Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
