Business Operations Manager

The Business Operations Manager serves as the principal advisor to the Chief of Staff for the Assistant Secretary of War for Nuclear Deterrence, Chemical, and Biological Defense Policy and Programs (ASW(ND-CBD)) and acts as the central focal point for all business, administrative, and resource management functions supporting the ND-CBD mission. Operating in a highly dynamic headquarters environment, the incumbent translates broad executive guidance into actionable policies and processes.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

You may qualify at the NH-04 level if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). This experience must demonstrate your ability to meet the specialized experience criteria.

Specialized Experience is defined as: forming and executing operating budgets to resolve funding shortfalls; supervising civilian, military, or contractor personnel to direct daily work; managing day-to-day facility operations, security protocols, and responses to external inquiries; and monitoring contractor cost, schedule, and performance trends.

Experience may include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs such as Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, and other organizations such as professional, philanthropic, or community groups. All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be credited.
