Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients within an inpatient Innovation Design Unit (IDU) that tests new models of care, innovative technology, and facility design concepts
Practice within a primary nursing care model with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (days) and 1:5–6 (nights)
Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs (where assigned)
Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses, as traveler staff are first to float
Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
Required Qualifications
Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN state license — if license is not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
Experience with IV drip management required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
EPIC charting experience required
First-time travelers not accepted; exceptions may be considered for candidates with 2 or more years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Experience working in a large academic medical center or Level I trauma environment
Familiarity with progressive care or step-down level patients
Comfort with emerging healthcare technology platforms such as virtual nursing, ambient monitoring, or interactive patient experience systems
