Senior Planning Strategist

Northern Trust is a Fortune 500 company providing innovative financial services to high net worth individuals, families, and institutions. We are seeking a Wealth Strategist, a client development sales executive, to cultivate new relationships and drive growth.
Responsibilities Bring entrepreneurial spirit and motivation to close new business, and strong collaboration and communication skills to create and implement a business development strategy for a targeted new client base.
Cultivate relationships with ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, families, and businesses to develop new investment management relationships.
Provide a consultative approach with clients and their representatives (attorneys) on estate planning services and wealth transfer and tax‑planning strategies.
Act as a liaison; regularly check in with clients and coordinate with Northern Trust teams to meet evolving needs.
Build and nurture internal and external personal and professional networks to identify new client relationships and showcase Northern Trust capabilities to the community, clients, and advisors.
Collaborate with a full team of experts to understand client needs and demonstrate how Northern Trust can help achieve clients’ goals.
Qualifications 10 or more years of sales and relationship‑management experience, preferably with wealth‑management clients.
Strong network of Centers of Influence (attorneys, estate‑planning professionals, CPAs) for ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals and families.
Knowledge of fiduciary capabilities and services (personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning) and fee structures.
Ability to profile a client’s financial landscape and advise on solutions across Northern Trust’s full range of capabilities.
Series7 and63 licenses required; CFP, CFTA, CFA, CIMA strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, sales, and communication skills.
Collaborative mindset; works across the organization and engages community partners.
