Position Overview

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking aBoard-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physic to join ourNocturnal Hospitalist team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality inpatient medicine in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while enjoying a flexible nocturnist schedule.

Position Highlights

Patient Volume: Manageable nightly census with dedicated support

Coverage Model: Physician-led team with APP support (NP/PA)

Closed ICU with intensivist support

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours

Admit patients from the emergency department

Cross-cover and manage existing hospitalized patients

Respond to overnight clinical changes and rapid responses

Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and care teams

Ensure thorough documentation and effective handoffs

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited program

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Eligible for or active Maine medical license

Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
