Travel position for a Med/Surg RN.
The unit has a total of 33 rooms, accommodating up to 49 patients, including some semi-private rooms.
There are 62 staff members on the unit.
Staffing includes 2 charge nurses and 2 techs during the day shift, and 1 charge nurse and 1.5 techs during the night shift.
RN to patient ratios are 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night.
Telemetry monitoring equipment is used, and the EMR system is Meditech.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience.
Typical procedures performed include wound care and occasional bowel programs.
RNs on this unit should enjoy a busy floor environment.
Patient care experience is a primary focus.
This unit specializes in caring for surgical flap patients and spinal cord injury patients with complex wounds requiring surgical intervention.
Collaboration occurs with the burn unit for managing low acuity burn patients.
Semi-private rooms may be used during high census periods, though this is not the preferred arrangement.
