Senior UnderwriterThis position is national remote. OptumRx is a leading pharmacy benefit management (PBM) company managing the prescription drug benefit of commercial, Medicare and governmental health plans, as well as those of employers and unions.The successful candidate will be involved in the pricing activities of RFPs (Requests For Proposals) and will acquire a breadth of knowledge in all financial / operational aspects of our business. This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be normal business hours, Monday - Friday.Determine pricing for the various products and services we offer, customized for each individual case using a variety of forecast modelsLeverage business knowledge to propose solutions to business problems regularly in a dynamic work environmentBuild and maintain financial models to assist in the economic analysis of market alternativesEvaluate and recommend alternative pricing options and plan design changes based on economic analyses and trendsAssess the risk of pricing guarantees offeredCollaborate with the Sales, Proposals and Legal teams to project pricing and profit for a range of services and products the company offersGather, summarize and analyze detailed data with an aptitude for technical skillsOngoing reviews that directly align with client strategiesValidate renewals and request for proposals for accuracyYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GEDMust be 18 years of age OR olderExperience with collaborating with partners (sales, client management)Experience with explaining pricing decisionsIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills (V-Lookup, Sumif Statements, and understanding formulas)Ability to work any of our shift schedules during the normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time zone from Monday - FridayPreferred Qualifications:Healthcare industry experiencePharmacy Benefit Management experienceDatabase querying exposureBackground in accounting and financeTelecommuting Requirements:Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacyMust live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment.
