Amarillo, Texas - IDD (Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities) Respite

Shift available: Full-time and part-time

As a non-profit, TPC provides a wide range of services from mental health and substance use support to intellectual and developmental disability care, empowering clients of all ages to achieve dignity and independence. With seven service centers located throughout the region, our staff work together with our clients to achieve our mission to create an accessible system of care that supports individual choice and truly make a difference. Essential duties and responsibilities of the Caregiver:

Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language

Shift hours: Multiple full-time and part-time openings

Potential on-call rotation

The Caregiver performs direct care for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting for male or female residents

The Caregiver is responsible for training, transporting, preparation of meals, feeding, bathing, toileting, medication administration and maintaining a safe and clean environment for the residents, and other duties associated with daily living

Includes transporting in cars, minivans, and 15 passenger vans.

Order, stock, inventory, and rotate food supplies to maintain sufficient quantities to facilitate the operation of the group home with household needs

Required qualifications of the Caregiver to be successful in the job:

High school diploma or GED

or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test

Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy

Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications of the Caregiver to be successful in the job:
