RN - Registered Nurse - Travel Nursing Pool

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step-Down experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Requirements

Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required

Associate\'s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer proficiency required

Responsibilities

Work setting is an acute care hospital on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Med-Surg unit

Patient population includes a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

May be floated to any area of the hospital

Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

13-week contract

Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions

Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures

Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families

Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before beginning a new contract

Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly — the facility does not allow delayed start dates due to non-compliance
