Software Systems Engineer
This role sits at the intersection of broadcast engineering, software development, networking, and operational support. The engineer will build and maintain tools, integrations, dashboards, and automations that connect multi-vendor broadcast systems, monitoring platforms, APIs, databases, and transport workflows. The goal is to improve visibility, reduce manual work, speed up troubleshooting, and help modernize Distribution and Transmission operations.
The Software Systems Engineer will be responsible for analyzing use cases and requirements from internal client teams and/or client services and will provide technical solutions accordingly. This includes attending meetings, providing estimates, and communicating project plans to stakeholders.

Thoroughly document all programs and processes developed.
BS Degree in any Engineering or related field (Computer Science, IT, etc.)

• Experience developing and implementing monitoring and automation tools
• Hands-on database experience (querying, designing, and maintaining SQL)
• Experience working with RESTful API's using JSON & XML
• Strong data analysis skills & experience with data wrangling
• Demonstrated experience operating in both Linux and Windows environments
• Experience setting up and working in cloud-hybrid environments
• Experience with Python, C++, or C#

Familiarity with streaming technologies and video transport including, but not limited to, HLS, MPEG DASH, WebRTC, SRT, RIST, Zixi
Experience with long haul data transport via fiber, satellite, bonded cellular
Experience with DRM platforms (Widevine, Veramatrix, etc.)
Experience with video test and measurement standards such as ETR-101 290
Knowledge of content delivery networks (CDNs) and support for multiple CDN distribution options
