Custodian Positions AvailableCoordinated Care Agency (CCA), a dba of the Archdiocesan Housing Authority, offers comprehensive services, enhanced shelter, and housing for people experiencing deep poverty and homelessness. The team works to promote social changes to dismantle systemic racism, injustices and inequities that contribute to housing instability. The Custodian is responsible for cleaning building common areas and units during turnover. They complete the day-to-day tasks of client unit turns, work orders, and daily cleaning and sanitizing of common shared spaces.Custodian positions offer a compensation range of $22.95 – $24.32 per hour (DOE)Positions Available:Thea Bowman Apartments (Kent) Full-time (40 hours per week) Day shift, Sunday - ThursdayThea Bowman Apartments (Kent) Part-time (32 hours per week) Day shift, Wednesday - SaturdaySt. Martin de Porres Shelter (Seattle) Part-time (16 hours per week) Day shift, Saturday - SundayReach Out Shelter (Federal Way) Full-time (40 hours per week) Day shift, Monday - FridayReach Out Shelter (Federal Way) Part-time (16 hours per week) Day shift, Saturday - SundayResponsibilitiesPerform routine scheduled cleaning duties: sweep, mop, and wash walls.Clean bathrooms, food serving area, and other common areas to building standards.Stock and assist with communicating inventory.Prepare vacant units for occupancy.Maintain a clean exterior of the building.Assist building maintenance staff and maintenance vendors as needed.Remove garbage and recycling from the building following all safe trash removal protocols and wash trash cans.Ability to respond to urgent janitorial needs/requests/emergenciesAssist program staff in ensuring occupied units meet Health and Quality standards. Enforce building and program rules, including bar policy.Alert management to non-maintenance concerns.Observe/follow guidelines on the confidentiality rights of residents and respect their privacy.Contribute to the mission of Catholic Community ServicesWork in-person at a program and attend required in-person agency meetings.Job Conditions:This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to illicit drug residues and fumes, bloodborne pathogens or other bio-hazardous materials in the course of doing business. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, pests, and odors. Other working conditions may include interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work, responding to emergencies and working on-call.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel/type, operate office machinery and reach with hands and arms.Work takes place at the agency work location for the duration of the scheduled shift where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsOne year experience working in a social service and/or customer service roleKnowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicalsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Experience or knowledge of mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or homeless services.Commitment to harm reduction and housing first program model.Experience with Microsoft office suite of programs and related databases.Must have a reliable means of communication (e.g. phone, voicemail service, email, etc.) Ability to adapt and respond to different people and situations through a trauma-informed lensSupport and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of the Coordinated Care Agency and the Archdiocesan Housing Authority.Support and contribute to a creative, collaborative and respectful environment that promotes teamwork.Preferred QualificationsExperience in janitorial or custodial work preferredA valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record per agency driving policy.Previous experience working with people experiencing homelessness.Lived experience with homelessness, mental health, and/or substance use.Previous work experience in programs that work with high-needs participants.CPR/First Aid training.Note to Internal Candidates: HR reviews internal compensation and determines any increase based on their experience and also agency internal equity factors.Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
