Job Description
Join Our Compassionate Oncology Team!
Job Description:

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Unit: PCU Oncology (5 North)
• Patient Population: Adult Oncology and Trauma PCU patients
• Number of Beds: 18

Why Work Here?

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required.

• Open to strong PCU experience with a preference for oncology.
• Charge nurse experience is not required.

Required Certifications:

• BLS (AHA) - Required
• ACLS (AHA) - Required
• ONS/ONCC Certification - Preferred (current preferred, not required)

Patient Ratios:

• Day Shift: 1:4-1:5
• Night Shift: 1:4-1:5

Scheduling Details:

• 12-hour shifts: 0630a - 0700p, 0630p - 0700a
• Every other weekend
• Self-scheduling, balanced to unit needs

Floating Information:

• Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units.
• Float assignments will remain at the same level of care.

Orientation:
- Two days of unit orientation provided.
Skills & Drips:
- RNs will titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips as part of patient care.
- Common medications include:

• Chemotherapy
• Heparin
• Cardizem
• Protonix
• Comfort with additional titratable drips is expected.

Respiratory Equipment:
- Familiarity with high flow equipment and BiPAP preferred.
Equipment Details:

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms

Support Staff:

• Nursing Assistants
• Charge Nurse

- PT/OT

• RN Case Manager
• Social Worker
• Educator
• Dietitian

Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments, 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
License Required:
- Valid nursing license for submission is mandatory.
