Senior Civil Engineering

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer in our Chesterfield, MO office. As a Senior Engineer within our Environmental Geosciences practice, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to a wide range of civil, geotechnical, and geoenvironmental projects while actively engaging in project management, senior technical review, sales and business development, as well as client relationship management. Working on a variety of projects related to landfills, coal combustion residuals, dams and levees, mines, and other water and waste containment systems, our client base includes a diverse mix of industrial, institutional, and governmental clients across the Midwest market.

As a Senior Engineer, we expect that you will work on a variety of challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to take on increasing responsibilities related to business development, client relationship management, project management, staff management, and mentorship. Task and project management of geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, material characterization, liquefaction, and foundation capacity.

Fieldwork, as needed, including the oversight and logging of borings, cone penetration tests, piezometer installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor management, and management of health and safety practices.

Support of construction quality assurance services, including monitoring contractors on geoenvironmental projects, preparing daily field reports, and coordinating with staff in the offices.

General civil engineering design and site layout.

Support of construction cost estimating, development of project specifications and bid forms, and the development of construing quality assurance plans.

Preparation and delivery of written documentation including proposals, technical reports, engineering designs and specifications, and/or presentations.

Support project execution, under the direction of a project manager, by tracking project budgets and schedules.

Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors.

Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Bachelors degree in geology, geological engineering, civil engineering or environmental engineering. (Current Missouri or Illinois Professional Registration (P.At least 7 years (8+ preferred) of relevant prior experience, in environmental consulting; Project management, business development training, and leadership training. (Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
