Physical Therapist Position

The Physical Therapist provides services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The PT also examines patient's medical history, evaluates their physical abilities, determines their potential to respond to therapy, and develops treatment plans. Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care.

Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in accordance with Hospital requirements and established guidelines. May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.

Two years direct patient physical therapy care and treatment experience preferred.

Experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.

Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.

Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.

Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.

Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.

Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:

Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.

Age of Patient Populations Served: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Patients, Providers, Vendors, Community agencies and advocates, Regulatory agencies, Patient Families
