(Remote) Mechanical Engineering

Work Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday.

Purpose: Provide mechanical design, technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems. Successfully complete the design of industrial projects in Refining and Petro-Chemical facilities, while providing first-class customer service by exceeding the client’s expectations.

Core Job Responsibilities
Establish design criteria for mechanical data sheets, prepare Mechanical specifications, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for all tagged Mechanical Equipment on the Project.
Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection with supportive material.
Collects, assimilates, and manages data for mechanical engineering work.
Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
Demonstrate superior engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines and Construction.
Works with client to resolve mechanical problems.
Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering as needed.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial design.
Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited engineering school.
Licensed Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
Previous relevant EPC company experience
Possess an advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable Codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with procurement, project controls, construction project managers, and clients.
Must have a proven track record of accomplishment as a design engineer on industrial projects
Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence.
Ability to work with others to achieve job goals

Physical Requirements
Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Sit for long periods of time
Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

Environment: Remote and onsite work. Visits to job sites may be required on occasion as needed.
