Travel RN night shift-rehab

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Kankakee, Illinois.
Job Description & Requirements

MUST for all submissions:
Must have EPIC experience
Preferred travel experience
Must have IL license in hand
Department: Rehab | RN
*Certifications: BLS. Rehab certified is a plus. QIM experience is preferred.*

• # Beds: 30
• Nurse:Patient Ratios: Depending on acuity 1:6-8
• Required certifications: BLS; rehab certified is a plus; QIM experience- preferred.
• Common diagnoses: Receive patients from med surg/tele- post op- cardiovascular surgery, falls, knee

surgeries, back surgeries, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons. Some COVID post acute for conditioning.
PICC/Ports.
- Experience: Previous travel (Highly preferred), 1 year of experience. Needs to be inpatient acute Rehab (not
SNF or LTACH).

• Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
• Common titratable: IVF, electrolytes, ABX, Blood.
• Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No continuous tele monitoring.
• Charge Nurse: TL during the day until 11pm. Charge on nights/weekend/holiday.
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: 2-3 techs at a time depending on census- Do ADLS/Vitals. Shower

tech that does showers.

• RT Equipment: Can have cpap/bipap if they use at home. RT assists with settings.
• Shifts & Scheduling: 5-530 12 hour shifts. TL/Manager build schedule. Try to accommodate block schedule and

be flexible.

• Weekend Requirement: Expected to work weekends if that is where the needs are.
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work Holidays if that is where the needs are.
• Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: Standby in case of low census and pending admissions.
• Floating Requirements: MedSurg
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue.
• Unit/Department specific orientation: One 12 hour shift with the preceptor.
