Overview Established Parkinson's Disease Investigator with Joint Appointments Faculty School of Medicine - Requisition Tenure Track Faculty Position . Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine; UT Health San Antonio.
Several academic components of the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) are collaborating to recruit an established Parkinson’s disease (PD) investigator to a tenure track position at the Associate Professor or Professor level. This initiative is supported by the Departments of Cellular and Integrative Physiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery, as well as the Ruby and Perry Stevens Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence, the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases, the Center for Biomedical Neuroscience, and the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive start-up package, salary, and state-of-the-art laboratory space. The candidate will be encouraged to establish an outstanding externally funded research program in PD, engage in productive scientific collaborations, and provide exemplary mentorship for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and residents. The candidate is expected to take on a leadership role for our initiative to submit an application to NIH/NINDS for a Udall Center of Excellence in PD. Qualifications PhD and/or MD degrees with an outstanding record of innovative research in neurodegeneration, especially PD.
