3 Month Contract - Mechanical InspectorThe Quality Inspector performs manual inspections and operates coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify the dimensional accuracy and quality of aerospace parts in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all components meet strict engineering specifications, blueprints, and industry standards before release.ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed manual inspections of aerospace parts using precision measurement tools to verify conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.Operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to conduct dimensional inspections and document results accurately.Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine measurement requirements and inspection criteria.Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part features and tolerances.Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to measure dimensions and verify product quality.Record inspection data clearly and maintain accurate documentation for quality assurance and traceability.Identify nonconforming parts and communicate findings to appropriate team members for corrective action.Follow established inspection procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent and reliable results.Support overall quality assurance activities within the aerospace manufacturing process.Essential SkillsHands-on experience performing quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in manual inspection of parts using precision measurement tools.Ability to operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for dimensional inspection.Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.Skilled in using micrometers for precise dimensional measurements.Skilled in using calipers for accurate inspection of part features.Knowledge of quality assurance practices and standards in manufacturing.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience inspecting aerospace components or working in aerospace manufacturing.Familiarity with inspection documentation and reporting practices.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills when evaluating parts against specifications.Ability to follow established inspection procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.Why Work Here?Join a highly specialized aerospace manufacturing environment where quality and precision are valued at every stage of production.
