Prep Cook About Loveski Loveski is a “Jew-ish” deli born in Northern California from Christopher and Martina Kostow. Featuring handmade sourdough bagels, house-made pickles, farm-fresh ingredients, and exceptional cured and smoked meats, Loveski blends the traditions of the classic appetizing store with an irreverent, artisanal Northern California approach.

We are seeking a motivated, culinary-driven Prep Cook to join our team, uphold our standards of food quality and consistency, and support Loveski’s continued growth.

Position Overview The Prep Cook is responsible for supporting daily kitchen production and ensuring ingredients and products are prepared consistently, efficiently, and to Loveski standards.

Responsibilities include:

Receiving, organizing, and properly storing deliveries

Setting up the kitchen and preparing stations for daily production

Preparing mise en place and executing recipes accurately and consistently

Following recipes, portioning standards, and production guidelines

Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times

Properly labeling, dating, storing, and rotating food

Following all food safety and sanitation standards

Supporting the culinary team with additional production needs as required

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 2–3 years of kitchen experience , preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Baking experience is a significant plus

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and production standards

Organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Current California Food Handler Card required

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
