PCT/Phlebotomist Emergency Department

Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. Assembles equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection tubes, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray according to requirements for specified tests. You will perform specimen collection while following the established policies and procedures of the Clinical Laboratory.
You will instruct patients on proper specimen collection procedures.
You will practice good infection control by hand washing, wearing personal protective equipment, for the protection of patient and self while maintaining a neat, well-kept work area
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certificate preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One-year hospital experience (including venipuncture experience) preferred.
Familiarity with a hospital laboratory is desired. Medical terminology preferred.
