MaxMed Healthcare, in partnership with ReadiForce Government Solutions LLC, is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide personal ancillary rehabilitation services, carrying out corrective exercise and treatment programs under the direction of a physical therapist for a diverse patient population. Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients as directed by the physical therapist (exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, traction).

Instruct patients on proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices.

Observe patients during treatment, compile and evaluate response data, and report to the physical therapist.

Confer with physical therapy staff and other health team members to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment programs.

ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients); Operate equipment and design exercise programs per standard physical therapy practice; demonstrate expertise with ultrasound, diathermy, TENS, cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, paraffin therapy, iontophoresis, gait instruction, burn care, isokinetic rehabilitation, and progressive resistive exercise programs.

Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). (Experience: One (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapy assistant, OR current certification as a physical therapy assistant as determined by the APTA.

Legal Authorization to Work: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must meet all DHA health requirements: immunizations, annual seasonal influenza vaccination, TB screening (TST/IGRA within 3 months of reporting to TAMC), and a physical examination confirming fitness for duty.

Must pass security investigative requirements, including fingerprinting and completion of an SF-86 (or equivalent OPM investigative product); Child Background Check if working with children.
