We are currently seeking a Color Matcher for our Dalton, GA location. This will be a first shift position, (Monday - Friday 7 a.m. -To quickly and efficiently match and formulate new colors consistent with work order requirements and lowest possible cost with the objective of satisfying all requirements of both internal and external customers. To support manufacturing with color testing and formulation for pre-QC and manufacturing color corrections.
Develop and review formulations to be entered into formulation databases.
Assist QC and/or MFG with off-colors in production.
Learn and is familiar with MCL, formulation guidelines, color matching software, color theory, color curves.
Expertise in problem solving issues with color in manufacturing.
Must be able to calculate fractions and percentages and other mathematical operations.
Must be able to operate lab scales, compounding lines, and specimen equipment.
High School Graduate or GED Equivalency preferred.
Six months of experience working with colorants in plastic or fiber and / or processing experience preferred.
Level 1 Expectations:

Little to no experience (less than 6 months) and needs supervision.
Safety and Housekeeping:

Prevents release of plastic to environment by supporting Operation Clean Sweep initiative.
Develops and reviews formulations to be entered into formulation databases. Communicates with internal and external customers as needed.
Product Quality and Consulting:

Assists QC and/or MFG with off-colors in production. Communicates with internal customers as needed.
Technical Training and Personal Development:

Completes performance review paperwork as needed.
Learns and is familiar with MCL, formulation guidelines, color matching software, color theory, color curves.
Prepares specimens for use in color computer libraries. Loads primary libraries in color computer. Assists with equipment failures and maintenance.
Assists with customer complaint resolution.
Improves computer skills through continuous learning.
Level 2 Expectations:

All of Level 1 expectations and requirements.
Three years of experience working with colorants in plastic or fiber preferred.
Safety and Housekeeping:

Prevents release of plastic to environment by supporting Operation Clean Sweep initiative.
Develops and reviews formulations to be entered into formulation databases.
Communicates with internal and external customers as needed.
Formulates for lowest cost, manufacturability, and compliance with customer requirements.
Product Quality and Consulting:

Assists QC and/or MFG with off-colors in production.
Analyzes and recommends actions to resolve product quality
Communicates with internal customers as needed.
Technical Training and Personal Development:

Completes performance review paperwork as needed.
Learns and is familiar with MCL, formulation guidelines, color matching software, color theory, color curves.
Attends industry training and events as required.
Helps evaluate new technologies for color development and communication.
Prepares specimens for use in color computer libraries.
Loads primary libraries in color computer.
Assists with equipment failures and maintenance.
Assists with customer complaint resolution.
Serves as back-up for incoming raw material evaluations.
Improves computer skills through continuous learning.
