Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Surgery
Position Information
This role involves working in an ambulatory surgery setting, providing high-quality patient care in pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units.
Key Responsibilities
Engage patients and their significant others in care decisions to promote participation and understanding.
Assess and document the educational needs and capabilities of patients and their families upon admission and during subsequent assessments.
Ensure the plan of care addresses identified problems, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient goals/outcomes, promoting optimal health and healing.
Conduct patient handoffs utilizing safety tools (e.g., SBAR, Report at Bedside) for smooth transition of care.
Maintain effective communication and utilize the chain of command as necessary.
Document and share relevant patient information with appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team.
Stay informed on unit huddles, emails, and other communications relevant to the team.
Facilitate communication of significant findings and collaborate with physicians through rounds.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, including data collection, in-services, and meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Current Missouri Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care and ambulatory surgery.
Willingness to float between units as required.
