Responsibilities

Physical Therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education and prescribed movement. Our Physical Therapists work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities. In this position with Presbyterian’s outpatient rehabilitation department, clinicians have the opportunity to treat a variety of patients and the ability to work with a group of therapists that have a range in specialties. The outpatient rehabilitation team is collaborative and patient‑focused. We place a strong emphasis on providing orientation and mentorship in order to ensure the well‑being and success of our new team members. Additional Job Duties

Evaluate patients

Develop plans and goals, and implement treatment programs for improvement of physical or developmental dysfunction and independence in activities of daily living

Continuously reassess treatment plans and goals

Educate and instruct regarding home programs and preventive measures as appropriate to patient, family, and others

Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department in a timely manner

Communicate with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care

Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards

Participate in educational programs, in‑services and other meetings as required

Participate on special project teams and other related duties as assigned and requested

Qualifications

Less than one year of experience in physical therapy

New graduates encouraged to apply

Bachelor’s degree required

Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred

New Mexico License of Physical Therapy required

BLS required at time of hire
