Prehospital (Transport) Registered Nurse. The Paramedic provides practice and delivery of safe, effective, ethical and culturally competent emergency care to patients of all ages in emergency situations who require stabilization and/or resuscitation as a result of illness or injury. Responsible for overseeing the daily operation when the Manager and/or Charge Medic are not available. This includes support for management of human, fiscal, material and environmental resources in accordance with hospital guidelines, organization/EMS philosophies and in compliance with regulatory and professional standards. ensure smooth shift operations; facilitate a seamless transition for the next shift that includes exchange of essential information; active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities; Performs technical procedures according to GMC Ambulance protocols and functions within their Scope of Practice in accordance with the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of EMS.

Full Time 36 hours a week

Supervisory Responsibility: Guidance: The job requires the provision of occasional guidance and training to others. Materials Responsibility: Very Limited. Work requires very limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include personal work materials, supplies or equipment, or very small amounts of cash. Although human error might require the repair or replacement of materials, usually the cost of correcting these errors is minor. Problems associated with material resources are very uncomplicated.

Field Of Study: Emergency Medicine

Special Training: Training Preferred: Critical Care Paramedic (CCP); Emergency Vehicle Operator Course; Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support or International Trauma Life Support

Licensure/Registration: Licensed Paramedic in IA and IL (employees hired prior to 5/21/2017 have one year to obtain second state license); There is routine exposure to highly adverse environmental conditions including physical hazards, health and safety risks, and otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment. Personal risks require safety equipment or precautions to be followed closely.
