Requirements

• Minimum 2 years total RN experience
• Must have Medical-Surgical oncology experience
• At least 1 inpatient hematology/oncology experience documented
• Current acute-care experience in the specialty applied for
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS chemo certification required
• Experience with telemetry, IV therapy, blood product administration, and management of tumor lysis and sepsis

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and blood dyscrasias.
• Administer high volume of blood products and IV antibiotics while ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed.
• Monitor and manage electrolyte levels and abnormal lab values, including recognizing signs of sepsis.
• Utilize telemetry for dysrhythmia interpretation and maintain competencies in central line management, blood draws, and feeding tube management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care.

• Orientation: First week is Monday to Friday dayshift; second week consists of 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor.
• Background checks, drug screens, and compliance with RTO policies are required.
