Buyer - Full time - Supply Chain Purchasing

Summary Procurement is defined as sourcing, negotiating and buying goods, materials and services to meet Trident’s operational requirements, departmental goals, and company goals. As part of the sourcing team, Buyers research, select suppliers and materials, and purchase goods and services. This role is vital to building relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, negotiating lowest cost while ensuring quality, and tracking and managing orders and payments.

Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, and deliveries.

Works closely with Shipping & Receiving and Accounts Payable teams to ensure optimal efficiency and best practice of Procure‑to‑Pay process.

Compares prices, availability, delivery dates, and other criteria and places orders with suppliers.

Follows up on supplier quality and service issues.

Develop strong supplier relationships and strategic partnerships.

Engage with stakeholders regularly to assess requirements, report progress, provide support, obtain project buy‑in, and ensure no lapses in service and quality.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify savings opportunities and keep abreast on market knowledge for product/category management.

This is a non‑exempt position with an hourly pay rate range of $31 to $39 per hour.

Qualifications A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (preferably in supply chain management) and two years of related experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, advanced proficiency in Excel.

This is an on‑site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In‑office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.
