Psychiatry, Full Time Psychiatrist

Psychiatry PhysicianMohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary Behavioral Health team. This full-time, hospital-employed position is based in a structured inpatient setting and offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients with acute psychiatric needs. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with a shared call rotation. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Core Job ResponsibilitiesConduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and coordinate care plansWork collaboratively with psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other support staffParticipate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, treatment team meetings, and quality improvement initiativesParticipate in shared callEngage in medical education through supervision and teaching of psychiatry residentsDemonstrate quality in documentation4 days inpatient unit, 1 day EDCL Must be on siteEducation/Experience RequirementsREQUIRED: Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Licensure/Certification RequirementsREQUIRED: Current NYS Certification/Licensure Federal DEA Certification Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicableDisclaimer Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their age, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, et al), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, protected veteran status, or disability.
