Exciting Opportunity for ICU RNs: Night Shift Heroes Wanted!
Job Description:

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit
• Location: Boise Hospital, Level 3

- Bed Capacity:

• SICU: 16 beds
• MICU: 16 beds

- Nurse-Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 and 1:2
- Required Certifications:

- BLS

- ACLS

- NIHSS

- Common Diagnoses / Types of Patients:

- CABG

- CVA

• Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
• Intracerebral Brain Hemorrhage
• GI Bleeds

- DKA

- STEMI

• Septic Shock
• Overdose
• Respiratory Failure
• Neuro Surgery
• Open Hearts

- Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Preferred experience in similar size or larger ICU and hospital

- Skills and Responsibilities:
- Titration of drips
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips include:

• Dopamine
• Epi
• Norepinephrine
• Cardene
• Nitro
• Neosynephrine
• Vasopressin
• Diltiazem
• Insulin
• Esmolol

- Unit Support:

• Charge Nurse and House Supervisor on each unit (Charge Nurse does not take an assignment)
• Resource Nurse available on each unit
• Nurse Aids available with 1:8 ratios: 2 CNAs on days, 1-1.5 per night

- Additional Staffing:

• Hospitalist and Intensivist in-house
• Respiratory Therapists available 24/7 (minimum 2 in each ICU)

- Monitoring Requirements:
- RNs required to monitor and read strips (Spacelabs)
- Shift Details:

• 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other or half weekends required
• Floating required to other ICUs in the Valley (Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center)
• May float outside of ICU for 1:1 sitter positions

- Orientation:
- 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
- Dress Code:
- No specific scrub color or dress code required
- Radius Rule:
- Must be outside of a 50-mile radius for submission
