Our client, an aerospace engineering and manufacturing organization, is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As an Advanced Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the engineering team supporting Production, Supplier Transition/Reposition, and Value Engineering initiatives. Job Title: Advanced Mechanical Engineer
Conduct evaluations of FanC components and systems, including quality, drawing interpretation, supplier substantiation, and design change processes.
Conduct 3D finite element thermal, stress, modal, vibration, deflection, stress rupture, and life analyses.
Collaborate with local and global analysis teams, create statements of work, review analysis output, and communicate with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, and chief engineers.
Support process transformation initiatives to reduce design and manufacturing cost and cycle time.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field or a related area.
Knowledge of the gas turbine engine industry and system-level understanding of a gas turbine engine.
Strong drawing interpretation skills, including GD&T, along with FEA (ANSYS or equivalent) and 3D modeling (CAD) experience.
Opportunity to support Production, Supplier Transition/Reposition, and Value Engineering initiatives.
Work on gas turbine engine FanC components and systems across multiple engine models and part families.
Collaborate with local and global analysis teams in an Agile environment.
Apply advanced engineering analysis techniques including finite element analysis and 3D modeling.
Contribute to process transformation efforts focused on reducing design and manufacturing cost and cycle time.
