Job Summary:

Emergency Department Registered Nurse position in Lufkin, Texas. This role involves providing specialized emergency care in a busy trauma and stroke unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position includes variable evening and night shifts, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Certifications including ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); 2 years of experience in emergency nursing; No specific experience required in setting; Location in Texas; Minimum 0 years of experience
Additional Information:

Must have at least 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
Experience managing trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac patients
Competency in ECG rhythm recognition and emergency procedures
Responsible for managing own ER holds and working with physicians/mid-level providers and charge nurse/house supervisor
In-house security presence; patients per day approximately 80-90 with a ratio of 1:4
No separate psych/seclusion rooms; patients are cared for in intermixed ER holds
Responsibilities include phlebotomy or nurse draws, using Paragon electronic medical record system, and managing advanced respiratory equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPAP, etc.)
Floating to units qualified for is required; Navy scrub dress code; specific departmental orientation provided
No trauma level specified; position begins on June 22, 2026
