Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a field-based Psychiatrist to work in Los Angeles, CA 90012 .

Prevent Homelessness Promote Health (PH²) is a joint program between the L.County Departments of Mental Health and Health Services Housing for Health. PH² works with adults and families countywide to address risk factors and build skills that support the maintenance of permanent and stable housing. PH² conducts field-based services countywide in collaboration with the Department of Health Services - Housing for Health, to provide residents in Permanent Supportive Housing and other individuals at-risk of returning to homelessness due to acute medical or mental illness with brief interventions and quick response time. Ideal candidates are interested in working with a multidisciplinary team and assessing and prescribing medications to vulnerable clients in supported housing settings. The program is countywide, but most clients are in and around the downtown Los Angeles area.

This position is for Independent Contractors (1099's)
Contract Length : 1 year

General Psychiatrist Services:

Complete field-based appointments in permanent supportive housing settings with a rounding partner/team
Performing psychiatric evaluations that includes a psychiatric diagnosis, assessment of the client's level of functioning, and screening for physical health related concerns and substance use
Evaluating for client's needs for medication to manage psychiatric illness and substance use Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Working closely with other members of the treatment team to dispense and administer medications as necessary and monitoring client's response to medications
Interest in field and community psychiatry
Proficient computer skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with the clients, department staff and community agencies
