Geotechnical/Civil Engineer

Provides geotechnical and civil engineering, construction and surveying support by reviewing and developing plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with the planning, design, permitting, construction, operation, and maintenance of the companys generation, transmission, distribution, telecommunication, or other facilities/systems.

Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process, or facilities to support Company objectives.
Develop electrical engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
Recommend alternative solutions to management in area of specialty on engineering solutions to meet business needs.
Deliver on commitments and manage outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work.
Analyze and design engineering methods.
Maintain project timelines and budgets.
Provide construction and engineering quality assurance support for projects within the company.
A minimum of two or more years of civil and geotechnical engineering or related professional experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty.
Understanding of geotechnical engineering practices and methods
Understanding in quality assurance and quality control process and inspections. Coordinate with procurement to solicit external services as required for project deliverables.
Manage bid process, contracts, for geotechnical, civil inspection and surveying services.
Negotiate with vendors and contractors regarding work scope changes and ensure that all contract commitments are completed on time per scope of work and specifications.
Understanding of Companys business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations and the National Electric Codes (if required for the position).
A minimum of five or more years experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems, or related professional experience.
Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
A minimum of 6 years experience in industrial power systems or electric utility power systems. Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in a specialty area of civil engineering.
Utilize project management and leadership skills to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver commitments.
Proficient with the use of personal computers, plotters, printers, and other general office equipment
Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; Project management and leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.
Expert knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty. Understanding of the Companys business and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws regulations and electrical codes.
Masters degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline;
Seven years professional engineering experience.
Understanding of companys business, and relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
Experience in electrical utility design and/or construction support.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
