Job Summary: The Registered Nurse will provide expert nursing care in the ICU and Step-Down ICU units at a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role involves administering medications, developing individualized patient care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and utilizing critical thinking to ensure patient safety and quality care. The nurse must hold current Illinois licensure and certifications including CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS, and be willing to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU as needed.
Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:
Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
Certification in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with education verification.
Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
Effective interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center ICU environment.
Familiarity with Step-Down ICU patient care.
Special Considerations:
Willingness to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU units.
Must adhere to hospital policies and standards of care for critical care environments.
Strong emphasis on patient safety and escalation protocols.
Scheduling:
~ Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
