Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical Float position.
The nurse will work night shifts for 12 hours.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Patients in this unit may require tracheostomies and ventilator support.
The nurse will be responsible for managing non-titrated cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Milrinone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.
Insulin management experience is desired.
The nurse should be comfortable floating between medical/surgical, telemetry, and observation areas.
Candidates must have strong assessment Skills and the ability to interpret dysrhythmias.
Experience with IV insertion, central line management, and hemodialysis is also important.
Wound care and isolation precautions should be part of the nurse's skillset.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
Candidates should be ready to work a minimum of 2 weekends a month.
The use of electronic charting systems is preferred.
Experience as a charge nurse is beneficial but not required.
A focus on teamwork and effective communication is essential in this fast-paced environment.
