Prep Cooks are the foundation of a successful kitchen and extremely valuable assets to talented chefs. The Prep Cook is responsible for meal prep duties including the preparation of ingredients, side dishes and sauces. Execute daily food preparation tasks as assigned by the head chef and Sous Chef
Manage inventory of kitchen ingredients and stock items as necessary
Communicate progress and needs with kitchen staff
Wash and prepare food ingredients according to health department standards
Properly label food items and store in the designated area
Minimum of 3 years related experience in culinary arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proper food safety training and knowledge of sanitation guidelines
Knowledge of how to properly use kitchen tools such as knives, blenders, oven, and gas range
Strong verbal and written communication in English
18.00 to $19.00 per hour

High School diploma preferred
Specialty/Technical training preferred
Skills/Abilities/Personal Characteristics
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required
