LCSW CARE Clinic

Responsibilities Provide clinical services, including the diagnosis of mental, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and addictive disorders; develop assessment‑based treatment plans; deliver psychotherapy.

Perform individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions.

Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team; attend team meetings; present clinical information and observations; provide consultation and assistance to staff in other disciplines; coordinate care and treatment planning for individuals.

Independently evaluate symptoms and behavioral presentation, dysfunction, and related diagnoses; draw conclusions regarding level of functioning.

Help individuals identify goals and solutions to short‑term mental, emotional, behavioral, and environmental conditions; use therapy to address illnesses and disorders, including mental illness, emotional disturbances, adjustment problems, behavioral, community problems, and social issues.

Participate in complex assessments and review clinical documentation as secondary review to confirm diagnostic and behavioral needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Review records and assessments to determine the accuracy of other clinicians’ diagnostic opinions and recommendations.

Supervise or verify the clinical work of staff (SWA 2, LMSW) when they cannot render assessment opinions or formal diagnoses; provide clinical guidance and supervision not performed by other staff.

Support the establishment of statewide policies and procedures, and local Standards of Practice to assure high‑quality clinical services, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for individuals in state‑operated programs.

Collect, review, analyze, and present data/metrics tied to clinical and/or performance measures; use data to improve access, quality, or treatment outcomes for special populations.

Facilitate referral and intake processes for individuals to the Article 16 Clinic and IPSIDD.

Participate in interdisciplinary committees such as Human Rights, Informed Consent, Incident Review, Health and Safety, Safe Patient Handling, Admission/Discharge meetings, and Placement Screenings; participate in other committees as needed to ensure high‑quality person‑centered services.

Minimum Qualifications Must possess a license and current registration as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in New York State.

Benefits Salary: Grade 23 hiring rate of $86,681 plus Geographic Pay Differential of $18,000 and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000 (total $109,650).

Thirteen paid holidays each year.

Thirteen days of paid vacation leave initially.

Thirteen days of paid sick leave each year (PEF/CSEA), which may carry over from year to year.
