Master Electrician

Join the University of New Mexico Facility Services department as a Master Electrician and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the electrical systems that power one of New Mexico’s premier institutions.

As a key member of our facilities team, you’ll work on complex electrical systems, provide expert-level guidance, and ensure the safe, efficient operation of campus infrastructure in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.

Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.

Leads, guides, and/or trains other electricians in applicable procedures and techniques.

Plans electrical secondary system additions or modifications.

May perform work of lower level electricians.

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Reads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedules.

Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

High school diploma or GED; Possession of a current New Mexico Electrical Journeyman License (EE98J) and a current second New Mexico Electrical Journeyman License.

Experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment.

Experience keeping accurate maintenance record in portable recording device (iPad).

Experience leading lower-level technicians in performing complex repairs/providing structured training.

Regular - Full-Time

Hourly: $21.94 - $29.41
