Description
St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Bristol is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in need. The Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and volunteers. This position is responsible for the care of both indoor and outdoor areas, ensuring that safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
Summary of Responsibilities

Clean all shelter floors, bathrooms, stairwells, elevator, and common areas.
Dust, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces and high-touch points.
Maintain cleaning tools and equipment in good working order.
Check mechanical rooms and report maintenance issues to the Shelter Manager.
Process donations according to shelter protocols.
Oversee volunteers assisting with special projects.
Ensure building windows and air quality are properly managed.
Perform supply runs or pick-ups as approved, using personal or SVDP vehicles.
Follow safety protocols, including using caution/wet floor signs.
Uphold all St. Vincent DePaul Mission policies, philosophies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shelter Manager or Executive Director.
Requirements
Proven ability to work independently and perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks.
Maintain appropriate boundaries, confidentiality, and professionalism with residents and staff.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Adaptability and ability to handle additional assigned tasks.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs routinely, and move around the facility.
Professional phone and interpersonal skills.
