Galveston County Health District is seeking dedicated and compassionate Attending EMTs to join the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA). In this role, you will provide emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital care while ensuring patient safety, quality treatment, and compliance with established protocols.

Provide emergency and non-emergency medical care and transport patients safely
Communicate patient information and status to receiving facilities
Administer treatment following standing orders and medical Director protocols
Provide ongoing patient care and accurately document all care in the ePCR
Operate ambulances safely in accordance with state laws and GCHD policies
Maintain ambulance readiness, supplies, equipment, and communications systems
Collaborate with law enforcement, fire personnel, and healthcare providers
Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care at all times
Support public health emergencies and community response activities
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to obtain Medical Director protocol certification within 30 days of employment
Knowledge of EMS practices, patient advocacy, and emergency response procedures
Ability to pass written exam, skills testing, physical exam, and physical agility test
Must meet immunization, background check, DMV/MVR, and drug screening requirements
Ability to lift and carry patients and equipment (up to 250 lbs. with assistance)
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, bodily fluids, and emergency scenes
Must maintain physical stamina to perform CPR and other emergency procedures
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and disaster response activities as needed
