Job Title : Direct Support Professional/Driver (DSP/Driver)
Job Classification: (Full-time)
Salary Range : $18.00 - 19.00 per hour
DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in the Bronx and Yonkers, serving individuals with developmental disabilities. DSP is expected to support each individual in establishing functional independence in specific skill areas, implementing their Service Plan goals and objectives, and documenting their progress. Supports based on the individual's needs, preferences, and choices.
Encourage, guide and offer training to develop daily living skills, ensuring personal needs are met.
Promoting active engagement in community life and ensuring health and safety.
Create a positive and enriching program environment for all persons supported.
Work under the supervision of a Supervisor/BIS.
Provide an array of supports to individuals with Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD), dual diagnoses, and individuals on the autism spectrum.
Motivate individuals to develop their vocational, nutritional, social, and personal skills to achieve the highest possible level of independence.
Six months - 1 year in the Human or Health services field preferred but not required.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Drivers License. DSP/Driver receives $19/hr
Monday - Friday - 40 hrs
Shifts: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
