Urgent Need in RN MedSurg/Telemetry

Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit (STC‑5). Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636‑bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Responsibilities

Provide care to a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to geriatrics.

Treat patients who come from the ICU, especially the MICU.

Administer medication regimens.

Assist patients with impaired respiratory status.

Implement airborne, contact, and/or droplet precautions.

Provide nutritional support.

Perform wound and skin care.

Perform diagnostic procedures including thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, central line placement, paracentesis, angio‑cath insertion, pacemaker placement, and specimen collection.

Assist with N/G suction.

Provide cardiac monitoring.

Manage patients with GI abnormalities.

Treat patients with severe sepsis.

Manage patients requiring Bi‑PAP machines (external vent).

Treat patients with congestive heart failure.

Address multi‑organ failure points.

Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

Graduate of an RN School of Nursing.

ADN required; BSN preferred.

Active RN license.

Minimum of 6 months of RN experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited program.

Specialized field of study in nursing.

RN license.

Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting the role.
