Registered Nurse- Surgery PCU/ICU

RN Intermediate Care

This RN position is responsible for managing high acuity patients who are often too critical for a medical/surgical floor but may not require an ICU level of care. The team is skilled in caring for populations such as sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, continuous cardiac infusions, and those requiring acute continuous non-invasive ventilation (i.e. BiPAP/CPAP). These patients require continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring. The RN will be prepared to intervene quickly to any changes in hemodynamics or respiratory demands. The Intermediate Care RN is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating an individualized plan of care for their patients. They will serve as an advocate and educator to patients and their families. The Intermediate Care unit is a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment providing high acuity care to critically ill patients.

Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience; IMC/PCU experience is a plus License: MD RN or compact license Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: - Must have at least 2 years of ICU experience - Candidate's permanent address must be outside of 100 miles of the facility
