Mechanical Engineer IIIVitesse Systems is looking for a Mechanical Engineer III to join the team in Longmont, Colorado! The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and analyzing components and assemblies with a keen eye for structural integrity. From complex specification driven requirements to precision manufactured components, Vitesse Systems has the experience and expertise needed to execute.The mission-critical solutions we design and manufacture at Vitesse make our country and our world safer.Our Benefits3 Weeks of Paid Time Off10 Paid Company Observed HolidaysBirthday & Anniversary Incentives401K Employer MatchMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceCompany-paid Life InsuranceCompany-paid Short & Long-term DisabilityContinuing Education Reimbursement ProgramGenerous Referral ProgramThe RoleThe primary responsibility of the Mechanical Engineer is to design and analyze component and assemblies, while ensuring structural integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign hardware based on customer specifications using SolidWorksClosely collaborate with RF, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure design for manufacturability.Perform static and dynamic analyses (modal, static, random vibration, and thermoelastic) on designed hardware based on customer specifications using NEi/NX Nastran and FemapWork with QA to resolve non-conformances as they apply to designCreate and maintain proper documentation associated with the design and analysis of the hardwareCommunicate technical information internally and with customers and vendorsSupport production and test of the hardwareTroubleshoot hardware as neededSupport R&D test and design activitiesSupport the Sales Team with hours estimates and mockups for proposalsReview and approve drawings using GD&T, including tolerance stack-up analysis where requiredAdhere to government regulations, industry standards and internal guidelines to produce quality hardware in a quality settingParticipate in continuous improvement activitiesOther duties as assigned.Qualifications & ExperienceAt least of related design experience within the aerospace industry required.Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering.Master's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering desired, but not required.Each post-graduate degree may substitute 2 years of experience requirement.SolidWorks or similar CAD experience desired.NEi/NX Nastran, Femap, or similar analysis software experienceFamiliarity with composite structural designFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and 3D PrintingExperience assembling and delivering technical presentation to internal and external stakeholders.Project management skills, particularly with respect to delivering engineering content necessary to support the production process.Demonstrated experience with compliance to aerospace requirements, such as vibe, thermal, and mass.
