Practice Setting
Emergency department seeing all ages
Mix of inpatient and outpatient encounters through the ED
Approximately 140 patients per 24 hours through the department
24 hour coverage model with overlap from additional physicians and APP support
Schedule
PRN coverage, up to 5 shifts per month
12 hour weekday shifts and 10 hour weekend shifts
Consecutive shifts can be arranged for traveling physicians
No call requirement
Cases and Procedures
Full scope emergency medicine procedures including lines, airways, and chest tubes
Trauma volume consistent with a regional Level 3 trauma center
On nights, you may read your own plain films during the 2a to 9a window
Requirements
Must be an MD or DO
ABEM board-certified in Emergency Medicine
Louisiana medical license, will consider candidates with an active IMLC LOQ
Comfort with Cerner charting
